This is my very best friend, Tammy! We have been best friends for 23 years and have been through "thick & thin" together. This page is a "tribute" to her wonderful friendship and to her amazing accomplishment!  I am so very proud of her and happy for her!

Tammy was going through all the same feelings I was and was NOT happy with herself but at a loss as to what to do to lose the weight and how to get the motivation needed.

We have always been pretty much the same weight throughout the years - with her being a little lighter most of the time. This was the first time I have ever seen her this heavy (and she was still lighter than me at my "high" weight). When I started my Weight Watcher's journey she watched and supported me on my journey!  She is a fantastic listener.

Then, a couple months into my own journey, she called me up and told me she started Weight Watchers.  This rather "shy" person walked through the doors of Weight Watchers by herself.  I was so proud of her!  She even found herself "speaking up" at the meetings which is also an unusual thing for her to do. She told me, "I'm not letting your weight get below mine!" Fun competition is a wonderful thing!

While we were on our journey to Lifetime it was so nice sharing our thoughts, recipes, Point Finds, struggles and successes! We visit each other several times a year and it is nice being on the same journey while spending a wonderful time together. When we are struggling through some tough times we are always there for each other - emailing our journals to each other, talking through our struggles, etc.

Tammy went on to lose 50 lbs during her journey and received her Lifetime status. Shortly thereafter she became a receptionist for Weight Watchers and continues to help others achieve what she has achieved. She loves working for Weight Watchers and helping others to stay on this journey of ours. By the way, she is also a wonderful, thoughtful, caring and supportive receptionist!

This is Tammy now (with yours truly). This picture was taken July 1999 and we were off for a scrumptious dinner at the Outback.  See how confident and happy she looks - I love that look. Strong and in control. It sure is a big difference from the "before" photo.

The journey is well worth it.  You too, can have the same success - why not start your journey now!
